Is there a statute of limitations on things done and said in a different time and era?  Simple answer, no.  You can do and say things during an era that might be more forgiving towards those transgressions, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that they were still transgressions.  I’m sorry, if you’re singing racist songs in the 1930’s that doesn’t make them any less racist.
